The O2London’s O2 To Become Leading Conference Centre in 2016

This year The O2 is likely to become London’s premier conference centre. Located in North Greenwich, South East London, the venue is perfectly located for City and Docklands team building events and conferences and has an exciting year ahead.

Conference Week 2016

From the 4th to the 11th of September this year, the venue is set to host seven days of corporate events for Conference Week. In order to host this event, the venue has cleared its schedule for the first time to make room for a large number of meetings, team building and breakout sessions.

Previously a venue that was well known for hosting music concerts, the Conference Week will be opened up with a selection of music acts. Following this the space will become available for corporate meetings and team building activities. The venue anticipates accommodating up to around 15,000 people, a large number of whom will be able to benefit from staying in the on-site hotel.

Steve Sayer, The O2’s commercial director, said: “Conference Week underpins our commitment to the corporate events sector. Clearing our diary for the first time in this way allows us the flexibility to hold numerous events and offer true value to our clients.

“London is competing on the world stage for the conference business and we at The O2 are supportive of any efforts to bring more business to this city. We believe our venue offers the perfect setting for any brand or organisation.”

With its large area and huge number of guests being anticipated during the Conference Week this September, the O2 hopes to beat the current number one, the ExCeL London, in becoming the leading corporate centre for London. The O2 has already hosted corporate showcases for clients including KPMG, St James’ Place and the Salvation Army and are now looking to attract a range of new clients this year.

Indoor Team Building Activities In London

The O2 is a large indoor space meaning that indoor team building activities and corporate events are possible. One main benefit of indoor team building activities is that the British weather will not get in the way of carefully planned events and they can therefore be scheduled at any time of year, on any day without the risk of cancellation due to rain. Although many believe that activities carried out indoors are less fun than those outdoors, this certainly does not have to be the case, especially in a venue as large and as flexible as the O2.

These events can be fun, innovative and exciting, while maintaining clear learning objectives and outcomes. Many different indoor activities are available for corporate team building and are suitable for those working in a diverse range of industries. Companies are able to tailor activities for different needs within different businesses.

Examples of such needs or aims within companies are to create better relationships and communication within the work place, to enhance creativity and to promote collaboration.  Such activities can therefore boost the strength and productiveness of companies and create a better working environment. For more information on the wide range of exciting activities available indoors, visit the Zing Events website.

The O2 is a sizeable event space located in an excellent area of London for City and Docklands team building activities and company events. Clearing the calendar for corporate events this year should bring more businesses to the city of London who will be impressed by the flexible venue, which can hold numerous events within the site. With these factors weighing in its favour, the O2 looks set to become London’s leading corporate centre in 2016.
